The peewee RiverDogs went 3-1 at the Rutland Fall Ball Classic, taking third out of eight teams at the annual tournament.
Alex Tonge led the way for the RiverDogs, stealing eight bases and stroking eight hits, including four doubles and a triple. He also showed he could do it with the arm, pitching a complete game in a victory over host Rutland, striking out 13 and allowing two runs.
Catcher Alexander Willis also was on a tear at the plate on the weekend, smacking seven singles and driving in eight runs. Centre-fielder Michael Fryer was solid, notching five hits, including three doubles.
Xander Denis also hammered a triple.
Mitchell Vosper had four strikeouts while pitching 2-1/3 innings, allowing no runs.
Ben Fortems struck out 10 batters in four-plus innings on the mound.
