They partnered up with Thompson Rivers University to apprentice students; they successfully lobbied Canada Post to delay a $200 fee to install community mailboxes and they promoted Built Green B.C.'s values of sustainability.
Now the Canadian Home Builders Association Central Interior is reaping the accolades for their efforts.
CHBA Central Interior was honoured with the Local Association of the Year Award for a third time at the CHBA provincial annual gala Vancouver on Friday.
The Central Interior beat out nine locals province wide.
Despite having won in 2006 and 2010, Matt McCurrach, Central Interior association president nonetheless called the award a "pleasant surprise."
And he passed the accolades right back to the B.C. CHBA.
"We make every effort to represent our members at all three levels of government," he said. "Having a provincial CHBA is a great benefit to our members, providing additional services to the home building industry that we could not adequately do ourselves."
The award is presented annually to those showing the greatest progress and achievement in services and activities for members.
