The Kamloops Hitmen defeated Team 1 by a score of 10-7 on Saturday at Valleyview Arena.
The Hitmen had hat tricks from Tristan Coetzer and Nick Bradley, and Tate Jones, Lochlan Scholefield, Jordan English and Talon Manuel each added a single. Nolan deFouw, Tiegane Pertyshen and Tyler Dhaliwal had two assists each and Joey McKinnon and David Browning split the goaltending.
Team 1 got its goals from Kiel Schriml, Chase Bodger, and Jagger DeLaGorgoenaire, who had two. Brady Pawlachuk also had three goals but it wasn’t enough to get goaltender Keenan Smoch the victory.
Team 11 defeated Team 12 by a score of 8-7 on Sunday.
Max Hinkson led Team 11 with four goals and Grady Egeland picked up a pair. Paxon Haggard and Temeke Gottfreidson each scored singles.
Team 12’s Max Smith and Adam Surgenor each had two goals in the loss, with Ryan Mitchell, Delwyn Neveu and Kurtis Pearson adding singles.

BANTAM TIER 4
The Thompson Hotel Titans emerged victorious over the Revelstoke Grizzles, 6-3.
Austin Morphy got a goal in the first period on a bobbled puck by Revelstoke’s goaltender, it was the only goal in the first period.
In the second, Evan Vinterlik, Cole McLeod and Brendan Mucha each made the twine bulge, putting the Titans up 4-0.
Cole McLeod and Brogen Taphorn scored in the third to quell a late surge from the Grizzlies and secure the victory for goaltender Kaleb Virgo.
The Jardine Blazers are 2-0 after their opening weekend, defeating both Vernon and the Persuit of Excellence program 6-0.
Brendan Semchuk had a hat trick Saturday, with Ryan Chyzowski picking up a pair and Bennett Hunter adding a single. Jake Walker picked up the victory in goal.
On Sunday, Tyler Ward scored twice and Semchuk, Ty Kolle, Chyzowski and Solomon Seibel added singles. Curt Doyle was in goal for the victory.

Team 8 scored a 5-4 victory over Team 5 on Sunday.
Team 8 got two goals each from Jordan Calibaba and Spencer Shyiak along with Colton Davoren’s singleton. Ben Smith backstopped the victory in goal.
Team 5’s Dakota Hofmann netted a hat trick and Liam Edstrom add a single, but it wasn’t enough to put goaltender Nik Shufletoski in the win column.

The Scotiabank Millionaires dropped two games against Kelowna on the weekend.
The Millionaires opened up the season on Saturday with a 7-5 loss. Kamloops had goals from Ryan Larsen and Levi Toye, each with two, and Bryce Bertuzzi. Larsen also had two assists.
Zach Kohorst was in goal for Kamloops.
On Sunday, in an exhibition game, Kelowna again came out on top, this time 8-7. Bertuzzi had three goals and two assists, with Ryan Larsen, Levi Toye, Nathan Underhill and Luke Murray adding singles.
Kyle Proulx was in the crease for the Millionaires.
Brett Macdonald, Brenden Toye, Carter Streek, Brendan Hunchak and Evan Clark each scored to lead the Ice Hawks over the Kelowna Jr. Chiefs 5-1 on Saturday. Ashton Taylor had two assists.
Kolby Hay and Evan Pascoe split the goaltending in Kamloops’s first game of the regular season.
The Western Roofing Nailers picked up a pair of victories on the weekend in games against Penticton and West Kelowna.
Saturday’s game against Penticton was a come from behind victory for the Nailers who finished on top 6-5. Logan Stankoven and Reagan Milburn had two goals each and Justin Vinterlik and Jason Carrol chipped in one a piece. Jared Sucro was in net for the victory.
The Nailers went on to thump West Kelowna on Sunday 12-1, led by Stankoven who had four goals and three assists. Milburn was a close second to Stankoven, finishing with three goals and two assists and Nate Van Unen finished with two goals.
Matthew Mariona, Vinerlik and Kaiden Wiltsie also added goals for the Nailers.
Austin Krug stopped all but one shot en route to the victory.

BANTAM TIER 3
The North Kamloops Lions fell to South Okanagan 3-1 on Saturday. Brendan Roche scored the only goal for the Lions.
Despite getting 30 shots on goal, Roche was the only player who could put one by the visiting goalie. Max Palaga stopped 17 of 19 shots in the loss.

The Mystixs had a victory, two losses and a tie this weekend in a tournament in Kelowna.
The Mystixs won their first game 10-0 over host Kelowna. Ali Borrows scored three times and Anna Morrish, Ashley McCabe and Katie Merritt each scored twice in the victory, with Ts’Setkwu Dunstan also scoring. Sydney Carter was in goal for the shutout.
In its second game of the tournament, Kamloops fell 3-2 to Williams Lake. Merritt and Borrows each had goals and Ashlynn Neurauter was in net.
Vernon and Kamloops played to a 4-4 tie. Borrows, Makenna Fitzgerald, Ashlyn Sunderman had goals and Carter was in net.
In their final game of the weekend, the Mystixs fell to Chilliwack 5-3, falling short of the final. Georgia Mclellan and Morrish, with two, had the goals. Neurauter was again in goal.

BANTAM TIER 2
A pair of weekend victories have helped the Player’s Bench Raiders to a 3-0 start to their Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association season.
The Raiders defeated Kelowna 6-2 on Saturday and Vernon 5-1 on Sunday.
On Saturday, Conan Poss scored twice as Kamloops came back from a 2-0 deficit with six straight goals. Kendra Woodland was the winning goaltender, and Carter Eschyschyn, Rylan Van Unen, Mike Van Unen and Garrett Kellington also scored goals.
Reid Gladman was the winning goaltender on Sunday. Rylan Van Unen had two goals, with Kellington, Brett Olstad and Jaxon Reid also finding twine.

Seven third-period goals helped Team 2 to a 9-8 victory over Team 9 in an exhibition game.
Kyle Bergman had four goals in the victory, and Ryland Davoren scored two goals and assisted on three others. Slater Gordon also had a goal and two assists, with Hunter Braten and Matthew Surgenor also scoring for Team 2.
Sage Pavlovich had four goals and two assists for Team 9, which scored twice in the final minute in a valiant comeback attempt. Riley Moore had three assists, Brendan Kohlberger had a pair of helpers, and Connor Hall, Kai Farenholtz, Riley Toporowski and Chris Buchanan also scored goals.

Kamloops travelled to Trail on the weekend and played to a win and a loss against its host.
On Saturday Kamloops fell 5-2 despite goals from Jacob Proulx and Jarrod Semchuk, but on Sunday the team bounced back to secure a 2-2 tie. Hayden Fidanza scored both goals in the draw.
Xavier Cannon and Nathan Nesci split the weekend’s games, with Cannon in goal for the tie.

MIDGET TIER 1
The North Kamloops Lions played host to two exhibition games on the weekend, playing to a tie and a loss.
On Saturday, Chilliwack and the Lions played to a 3-3 tie. The Lions had goals from Jordan Fidanza and Troy Gerard, with two, and Josh Shank went the distance in goal.
Sunday saw the Lions fall to Seafair in an 8-3 loss. Andrew Gammel, Reade Bentz and Jackson Scott scored the goals for the Lions, who will now turn their focus to their annual tournament starting Friday morning at Memorial Arena.

The North Kamloops Lions were shut out 9-0 by Kelowna on Saturday at Memorial Arena.
Bailey Monteith and Justin Mitchell shared time in the crease for the Lions.

The Jardine Blazers fell to the Kelowna Rockets 9-1 on Saturday.
Lane Grunerud scored the Blazers’ lone goal in the loss.
