From pregnancy to birth and beyond, information and services for moms and their babies is available in Interior Health with a phone call or the click of a mouse.
Healthy From The Start allows women to register when they become pregnant to get their questions answered and get connected to services such as a public health nurse.
The program is available throughout Interior Health, after being tried as a pilot project at six sites last year under the name of the Prenatal Registry.
More than 500 women from those communities used the service so they could connect with a public health nurse and get the information they needed.
There’s a toll-free phone number for registration at 1-855-868-7710, or there’s an online option at www.interiorhealth.ca/HealthyFromTheStart.
Participants will be connected with a public health nurse who will do a health screening questionnaire and provide information on programs, supports and resources available in their communities.
Healthy From The Start is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
