The TRU WolfPack men’s soccer team clinched a playoff spot and took hold of first place in the Pacific Western Athletic Association on the weekend.
TRU was 3-0 in three home games, including a 3-1 victory over the Capilano Blues on Monday in a game that was rescheduled from last month. The WolfPack is 9-2-1 and three points clear of the Langara Falcons.
Justin Wallace, Ashley Raynes and Oriol Torres scored for the WolfPack on Monday.
TRU knocked off the Douglas Royals 3-0 on Saturday and the Kwantlen Eagles 2-0 on Sunday, with Travis Froehlich notching both shutouts.
Torres had both of the WolfPack’s goals on Sunday, after he, Jacob Kaay and Wallace scored against Douglas.
The WolfPack has two home games remaining — it will play the Quest Kermodes on Saturday and the Falcons on Sunday. Both games are to start at 2 p.m., at Hillside Stadium.

The WolfPack women are 10-0-2 after a pair of weekend home victories.
TRU knocked off the Royals 2-0 on Saturday and the Eagles 5-2 on Sunday.
Kelsey Martin had two goals and two assists in Sunday’s victory. Katie Sparrow, Bronwyn Crawford and Alanna Bekkering also scored for TRU, which had Jamie Wheeler in goal.
Bekkering and Crawford had the goals on Saturday, and Emily Edmundson posted the shutout.
The WolfPack needs only a tie on the final weekend to clinch first place. TRU will be at home to the Kermodes on Saturday and the Falcons on Sunday — both games start at noon.

A home tournament ended with a pair of losses for the WolfPack women’s basketball team.
TRU lost 79-66 to the UNBC Timberwolves on Sunday, after dropping a 69-66 decision to the Trinity Western Spartans on Saturday.
Kassie Colonna had 28 points for TRU on Sunday, and Sarah Malate scored 17.
Jorri Duxbury scored 22 points to lead TRU on Saturday, with Colonna adding 17 and Syd Williams scoring 13.
The WolfPack is off to Victoria for another exhibition tournament on the weekend.

TRU finished third at its home men’s volleyball exhibition tournament, beating the Guelph Gryphons (25-18, 25-19, 25-14) in the third-place match.
Brad Gunter had 15 kills in the victory, with Phil Ozari adding 12. Colin Carson dished 35 assists, and Spencer Reed dug 10 balls.

The WolfPack finished 2-1 at a men’s basketball exhibition tournament in Vancouver, finishing with a 89-60 loss to Portland’s Concordia University.
Tallon Milne scored 14 points for the WolfPack, and Ta’Quan Zimmerman scored 12.

TRU dropped its second straight B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League game, falling 7-4 to Simon Fraser in Burnaby.
The WolfPack, now 2-2, is off to Castlegar for a pair of weekend games with the Selkirk Saints.
Duncan Schulz, with two, Alex Martin and Silvan Harper scored for the WolfPack, and Mark Menicucci made 34 saves. Joshua MacDonald had two assists.
