The cause of a fire that gutted a North Kamloops home remains a mystery.
Firefighters arrived at the corner of MacKenzie Avenue and Poplar Street on Monday night around 8:30 p.m. to find smoke pouring from the bungalow. No one was home.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue investigator Arlene Ball completed her examination of the site on Wednesday but was unable to determine a cause.
Contrary to rumours, the City had not taken action against the property prior to the blaze, although bylaw services had identified it as a nuisance property.
