Tranquille Farm has seen so much interest in its tunnel tours that it’s extending them to early November, and that includes Halloween night.
Thousands of Facebook views since the tours were announced in late August have translated into 81 sold-out tours so far.
Interest has spread beyond Kamloops, attracting visitors from Vancouver, Prince George and Calgary. Unable to obtain tickets, some people are booking private tours with friends, family and co-workers.
In response, Tranquille Farm Fresh, the company that manages the historic farm, is considering the feasibility of opening more of the tunnels next year and hosting musical and theatrical event underground in 2014.
The subterranean corridors were built to enable passage between buildings at the former provincial institution.
In order to meet demand, the tours continue Oct. 31-Nov. 3, with tours starting at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. nightly. Tickets can be purchased through the website kamloopslive.ca.
