Pamela Wallin’s contention that her treatment at the hands of the Harper government is an affront to Canadian democracy is laughable (The Daily News, Oct. 24).
Wallin’s presence on the Senate is an affront to Canadian democracy. She was never elected and was put there as a fundraiser for the Conservative Party.
Abolish the Senate. It’s a reservoir of patronage and partisan support for whatever party is in power.
When young parents in this country are unable to go to work because of the horrendous cost of daycare, I think the money could be used in far more constructive ways than giving Wallin’s and Mike Duffy’s fat derrieres couchier seats.
