Daniel Buchanan had his second straight four-point game as the Kamloops Storm beat the Chase Heat 7-3 in a KIJHL game Saturday at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.
Buchanan, a 20-year-old Kamloops native, had two assists and two goals — including the overtime winner — as the Storm knocked off the visiting 100 Mile House Wrangers 5-4 on Friday. He had a goal and three helpers Saturday to bring his points total to 27 in 16 games.
He is tied for eighth in league scoring, and first among defencemen.
Bobby Kashuba also scored twice and Josh Rasmussen had a goal and two assists. Spencer Schoech, Felix Larouche and Stefan Wood also scored for the Storm. Kyle Michalovsky made 21 saves in the victory for Kamloops (13-3-0-0).
Jacob Mattes made 42 saves for Chase, which got goals from McKenzie Guardiero, Connor Venne and Chad Wilde.
The Storm is scheduled to head to 100 Mile House on Wednesday to play the Wranglers, before the teams play at the Sport Centre on Friday, 7 p.m.
Chase (7-6-0-2) is off to play the Rockets in Golden on Friday, before heading to Invermere for a Saturday game with the Columbia Valley Rockies. Chase will make a stop in Revelstoke to play the Grizzlies on Sunday.
