OK, I get it. There are understandable concerns regarding the proximity and
environmental consequences of the proposed Ajax mine.
Most of these concerns are voiced by people who have gainful employment or those who are near retirement or already retired.
It’s understandable that they would voice their opinions with such vigor.
The pro-mine voice appears a bit muted, but I have yet to hear one of them mention that they like the fact that the mine will be so close and that they are excited to have more pollution in our air.
No, they all say the city needs jobs and Ajax will provide them.
So why are we still on the topic of environmental impact and proximity? Both sides agree on these points. When will someone step up and offer an alternative to the economic benefit that the mine will bring, more specifically, the creation of jobs.
Would this not solve the problem? Is this not where we should be focusing our
We all agree that a mine next door and dirty air isn’t great, so let’s move on and solve the real problem, creating jobs here in Kamloops for our young people.
Alternative suggestions anyone?
