A 61-year-old woman was taken to hospital Tuesday morning after crashing into a light post at Paul Lake Road and Chief Louis Way, Kamloops RCMP said.
The car was the same one an officer tried to stop earlier because it was identified as belonging to a prohibited driver.
After pulling over, the driver took off. The officer was en route to the registered owner's address when the accident report came in.
The woman's injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
"Police are continuing their investigation into the accident which may result in alcohol-related charges, as well as motor vehicle act offences," Cpl. Cheryl Bush said.
