The Chase Heat finished off a decent KIJHL road trip with a 5-2 loss to the Grizzlies in Revelstoke on Sunday.
The Heat had beaten the host Golden Rockets 4-3 in overtime on Friday before edging the Columbia Valley Rockies 2-1 in Invermere on Saturday. The results leave Chase (9-7-0-2) third in the Doug Birks Division, six points back of the Kamloops Storm (13-5-0-0) and one behind the 100 Mile House Wranglers (9-8-0-3).
Nicolas Fidanza and Kurtis Johnson scored for Chase on Sunday, and Jacob Mattes made 48 saves. Kyler Wilkinson had a goal and four helpers for Revelstoke, and Tre Mason scored three goals. Devon Hascarl had a goal and three assists, with Aaron Brandoli making 46 saves.
Kaleb Boyle had both of Chase’s goals on Saturday, both in the first period. Mattes made 24 saves.
Ryan Henderson scored for Columbia Valley, and Kyle Pouncy, a Kamloops native, had an assist. Conrad McMillan stopped 29 shots.
Chase is home to the Rockets on Friday, 7 p.m., at Art Holding Memorial Arena, before playing in Revelstoke on Saturday and 100 Mile House on Nov. 11.
The Storm is off to Creston to play the Thunder Cats on Friday, before a Saturday game against the Dynamiters in Kimberley and a Sunday contest with the Ghostriders in Fernie.
