Operation Red Nose busier than ever in Kamloops

Operation Red Nose had its busiest opening weekend ever in Kamloops.

The first weekend saw 90 volunteers provide 58 rides on Friday night and 92 rides on Saturday night. A total of $3,300 was raised from donations.

Rudy, the Operation Red Nose mascot, has been at several events to promote the program, which allows people to call for a ride if they feel they've had to much to drink.

Volunteers are still needed right up to New Year's Eve. Application forms are at the Tournament Capital Centre, the RCMP office, Volunteer Kamloops and Desert Gardens Community Centre. Or contact program co-ordinator Katie Klassen at 250-320-0650 or kklassen@kamloops.ca.

The number to call for Operation Red Nose service is 250-372-5110.
