The grand opening isn’t until June, but students and faculty of TRU’s law school move in at the middle of the month.
Christopher Seguin, Thompson Rivers University’s vice-president of advancement, called the event a soft opening.
“We’re going to have our students and faculty in there for the new semester in January,” Seguin said Wednesday.
“We’re planning the grand opening to correspond with the first convocation in June.”
People will move in without fanfare on Dec. 15 and 16. Seguin said this gives everyone time to get settled before the Christmas break.
The law school, which rests atop of the campus’s Old Main Building, was originally slated to open in September but construction wasn’t complete in time.
Students and faculty are housed in the Brown Family House of Learning and the International Building until the work is complete.
