Christmas will come, no matter what. But it is better with presents, packages and bows.
Those holiday treasures are in danger of making some thief’s Christmas come early when they’re left in open view in a vehicle.
That’s why the City’s crime prevention co-ordinator is reminding shoppers to keep holiday purchases out of sight when they’re out in the stores.
This year’s Out of Sight campaign includes stickers on retail bags to remind consumers that thieves will grab anything they see inside a vehicle — even that plaid flannel nightgown for Aunt Martha.
"Not only do these stickers act as another reminder to the public, they also demonstrate our local merchant commitment to community safety," said Sandro Piroddi, City crime prevention co-ordinator.
The campaign runs to the end of December.
Those who get stickers can go to the City’s website to enter a prize draw.
