CP Rail's holiday train is scheduled to roll into the city on Dec. 14 at 5:30 p.m., the 15th annual stop for the food bank event.
Since Nov. 25 the annual holiday train has raised money and food for local food banks along the rail line. It will visit more than 30 communities, beginning in Quebec and ending in Port Moody.
The train consists of 14 brightly decorated rail cars along with a modified boxcar converted into a stage for performers. This year's musicians include Matt Dusk and Melanie Doan.
Festivities in Kamloops take place at the ISC north parking lot. There are local entertainers and food by donation.
All donations stay with the food bank where it is donated. Items including infant formula, canned means and spaghetti sauce are in particular demand.
Other stops on Dec. 14 include Chase at 3:15 p.m., Savona at 7:30 p.m. and Ashcroft at 9 p.m.
On Dec. 13, the train will be at Revelstoke at 3 p.m., Sicamous at 5:15 p.m., Salmon Arm at 7 p.m. and Notch Hill at 9 p.m.
On Dec. 15, it stops in Lytton at 1:30 p.m.
