The Shuswap Lake Integrated Planning Process could see new life as a water quality program for the Shuswap watershed.
SLIPP’s steering committee approved the terms of reference for the new program during a meeting Wednesday, said a press release.
The committee includes representatives from the Thompson-Nicola and Columbia-Shuswap regional districts and the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council.
Enhanced collaboration, co-ordination, communication and education on water quality and safety on the water will be the program’s primary goal.
SLIPP wraps up on March 31. The program is expected to begin in 2014 pending funding approval by local governments.
