Pedestrian struck and killed on Dallas Drive

An 86-year-old man walking a dog on Dallas Drive near Sonora Road was struck and killed by a vehicle at about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The pedestrian was in an unlit area parallel to the Trans-Canada Highway when he was hit by an import four-wheel-drive vehicle travelling east.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating with the investigation. Dallas Drive was closed in both directions for the investigation.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the accident.

The injured dog was taken to a veterinarian.
