Kamloops contractor wins award for paving project

A Kamloops asphalt company has been honoured for its work on a highway resurfacing project east of Prince George.

ARC Asphalt Recycling Inc. was given the Deputy Minister's Contractor of the Year Award in the paving category.

The project involved 129 kilometres of Highway 16 from Blackman Road to Red Pass and Driscoll Creek to Slim Creek.

The company used the hot-in-place recycling method, a made-in-B.C. technology that is fast, saves resources and lowers greenhouse-gas emissions.

ARC ably dealt with heavy rain and tourist traffic during the project.
