KGHM-Ajax is advertising for two senior management positions for its proposed Kamloops mine.
Spokeswoman Robin Bartlett confirmed Friday the mine’s construction manager is leaving this month and it is also searching for a new general manager to replace acting GM Mark Blakely.
Blakely came out of retirement to temporarily head the operation here for the proposed open-pit copper mine on the city’s southern boundary, next to Aberdeen and Pineview Valley.
Construction manager Bill Matheson is leaving for undisclosed reasons.
“We will be interviewing for his position,” Bartlett said.
The company intended to file its application with B.C.’s environmental assessment office in September, but is revising its plans with an eye to moving the operations and footprint to the south of the historic Ajax pit.
It has no schedule to submit its application.
