A Kamloops chef is the newest champion of the adrenalin-inducing Food Network TV show, Chopped Canada.
Shelley Robinson, a 49-year-old former executive chef for Delta Sun Peaks, beat out a former CFL player and ex-con turned chef to take home the $10,000 prize on Thursday.
“I'm really proud of myself,” said Robinson. “I think it’s really been an affirmation for me. Each step I felt like, 'Wow! I’ve really done this.' "
Three chef judges were wowed by Robinson’s appetizer (petit lamb, dandelion greens and warm vinaigrette), entrée (grilled pork steak with grape leaf salsa) and dessert (couscous fritter with grapefruit salad).
