Bail decision reserved for man charged as an accessory in murder of BC teen

VERNON, B.C. - A B.C. Supreme Court judge has reserved decision on bail for a man charged in relation to the murder of an 18-year-old woman in the North Okanagan town of Armstrong.

Fifty-eight-year-old Stephen Foerster is charged with being an accessory after the fact in the killing of Taylor Van Diest last Halloween.

The Cherryville man is also accused of obstructing justice.

Judge Frank Cole heard the Crown and defence arguments for bail Thursday, and will render a decision May 14.

Foerster's son, 26-year-old Matthew Foerster, is charged with first-degree murder in van Diest's killing.

He's also charged with sexual assault and unlawful confinement involving a Kelowna escort agency worker in 2005, and in a 2004 home invasion that injured a 19-year-old woman in Cherryville. (CKIZ)
