WARSAW, Poland - Warsaw police say eight people have been convicted in summary procedures and 125 will go before courts following street fights involving Russian and Polish hooligans when their teams played a Euro 2012 match.
Wojciech Malek, a court spokesman, said Thursday the charges for those convicted include assaulting police officers and "taking part in illegal gatherings."
The brawls left 19 civilians and 17 police officers injured.
The court cases will be heard on Thursday.
Police detained 156 Poles, 25 Russians, a Spaniard, a Hungarian and an Algerian for the fighting around Tuesday's emotionally charged game between Poland and Russia, which ended 1-1.
There was no violence at the stadium or in the downtown fan zone.
