VANCOUVER - Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD) has announced several changes in its executive offices, including naming chief operating officer Norm Pitcher as company president.

Pitcher's role as chief operating officer is being taken over by Paul Skayman, senior vice-president, operations.

Pitcher has been Eldorado's COO since 2005, while Skayman, who joined Eldorado in 2005 from Afcan Mining Corp., has been senior VP, operations, since December 2009.

"These appointments are consistent with the company's recognition of the importance for succession planning and commitment to the ongoing strengthening of our organization," said Paul Wright, who is giving up his role as president but remains chief executive officer.

Among the several other appointments announced by the company on Friday was the promotion of Doug Jones, vice-president, operations, China, to senior vice-president, operations.

Vancouver-based Eldorado is a gold producing, exploration and development company with operations in Turkey, China, Brazil, Greece and Romania.
