Skateboarder identified after sidewalk hit and run hurts two tourists

VICTORIA - Police in Victoria say they believe they know the identity of a skateboarder suspected in a sidewalk hit-and-run that injured two tourists/

Victoria Police say the boarder slammed into a 57-year-old woman and her husband from Coquitlam, B.C., as they walked on a city sidewalk last Tuesday.

Both suffered serious injuries and had to be treated in hospital before they returned to their Vancouver-area home.

The police department now says it has identified a 20-year-old man from nearby Saanich as a suspect.

However, police still haven't been able to locate the man to serve him with violation tickets as they continue to investigate him on possible criminal charges.

Members of the department's foot patrol credit numerous tips from the public with breaking the case.
