They call it an Indoor GranFondo.
But what it really means is one heck of a lot of stationary bike riding to raise money for the MS Society of Kamloops.
The GranFondo - loosely translated from Italian as "big ride" - is designed for everyone from competitive to amateur cyclists to enjoy, the City of Kamloops said in a press release Thursday.
The event - sponsored by the City, PacificSport and the MS Society - takes place Sunday, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tournament Capital Centre Fieldhouse.
Participants can ride for six hours, four hours, two hours, or any open amount of time, with all riders finishing together at 4 p.m., led by Olympic cyclist Catharine Pendrel. Cost is $50 for adults, $25 for youth aged 13 to 18 and children are free.
Participants can bring their own bike and bike trainer (bicycle stand), or a limited number of bike trainers will be available for rent. A limited number of spin bikes are also available for free.
Along with the GranFondo, there will be a Family Day weekend at the Tournament Capital Centre, featuring free entertainment, bike challenges and speakers on stage. There will also be a free swim from 1 to 4 p.m, a Kidzone, a tots parade, workshops, and cycling expo.
