Christmas is today, but the City of Kamloops and the Thompson-Nicola Regional District are ready to recycle people's Christmas trees and lights.
All TNRD solid waste disposal site and recycling facilities will accept, free of charge, bare, natural Christmas trees until Jan. 31. Broken strings of lights can also be recycled for free at the facilities' scrap-metal piles until then.
The City has 12 Christmas tree recycling locations open from Dec. 27 until Jan. 15. For a full list, visit www.city.kamloops.bc.ca/garbage/christmastreerecycling.shtml.
