A Kamloops man did not die on the railway tracks in Dallas as a result of foul play, the coroner's service said Friday.
But an investigation into how Christopher Scott Hobbs, 25, ended up in a train's path early Thursday morning is ongoing, said chief regional coroner Larry Marzinzik.
Hobbs was struck by a westbound CP Rail train at Pat Road. Earlier, RCMP Const. Bernie Ward said police suspected the man was likely not from the Kamloops area.
Ward was unable to speak to specifics of the case as it's under investigation by the B.C. Coroner's Service.
A CP spokesman said the crew sounded the horn and applied the emergency brakes. The train could not stop in time and struck the man.
