A rollover on the Lac Du Bois Forest Road on Tuesday morning has resulted in drunk driving charges against a 24-year-old Kamloops man, police said Wednesday.

Kamloops RCMP estimate the driver was going more than 120 km/h when he lost control of a GMC Jimmy at about 9:40 a.m.

Neither the driver nor his 21-year-old female passenger was injured.

A Kamloops man came upon the scene shortly after the crash and reported it to police.

The driver provided breath samples that registered more than twice the legal limit, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25. In the meantime he has been issued a three-month driving prohibition.

"The driver has had previous contact with the courts on a similar matter involving liquor use and driving," police said.
