A 54-year-old Kamloops woman is uninjured but facing legal trouble after totalling her Jeep while driving drunk.

The woman crashed her vehicle into a retaining wall, which then rolled over at the intersection of Columbia Street and 13th Avenue at around 11:20 p.m. Sunday night.

Witnesses reported seeing the Jeep heading eastbound on Columbia Street and swerving into the westbound lane before crashing.

The vehicle went off road and across the sidewalk before straddling a retaining wall then flipping onto its side trapping the driver.

Kamloops Fire Rescue cut the top off to extricate the sole occupant.

She was taken to Royal Inland Hospital by ambulance and released about an hour later.

After her release, police brought her to the RCMP detachment where she gave two breath samples that registered more than twice the legal limit.

The woman was then released on a promise to appear in court March 11.

She was also given a 24-hour driver suspension.

The Jeep was a total loss.
