Course #204028
In this short workshop we will delve into the wonderful world of painting pictures. We will be using acrylic paints, which are water soluble, non-allergenic, are fast drying and low odour, and which come in a wealth of colours. We will learn about how to handle this versatile medium, how to mix colours, and how to put them down on the canvas or painting panel. There will be lots of hands-on fun.
All materials will be supplied -- paints, brushes (to use), paper, and painting panels, so you can get a feel for painting with very little (or no) outlay. Feel free to bring whatever supplies you have, and a water container and paper towels. Wear an apron or smock that you don't mind getting dirty.
Come and try painting. You might find that it is a delightful addition to your life.
Judy Mackenzie has been painting in acrylics for about 20 years. She is primarily a landscape painter, but has ventured into adding wildlife to her paintings, and has even done some abstracts. She has been featured in several galleries in the past, but now exhibits her work at her own home based gallery in Chase. She regularly submits her work to the Calgary Stampede Art Auction, the Federation of Canadian Artist shows, the Shuswap Festival in Sorrento, and Artwalk in Winfield. You can see her work at www.judymackenzie.com, or visit Art in the Park on Canada Day.
