A family in northern B.C. already reeling from the murder of their 16-year-old daughter has suffered another blow after their son was injured in a traffic accident.

CJ Fowler, the daughter of Matilda Fowler and Glen Wilson of New Hazelton, was found murdered earlier this month in Kamloops.

Now, the couple's 20-year-old son Dustin is recovering in a Vancouver hospital with a brain injury after being struck by the mirror of a passing truck in Terrace on Saturday.

Family friend Aaron Clifford said the family is devastated they can't be with their son, who is now in stable condition, as they prepare for the funeral of their daughter.
