A 42-year-old Pineview man trying to celebrate his daughter's first year of university ended up calling 911 when a brawl broke out Saturday night.

The fracas began just after 1 a.m. when a pair of drunken teenagers began fighting over a girl, according to police reports.

Soon the residence on the 1700 block of Lodgepole Drive was overrun by violence as 10 drunken young men engaged in the fight, which spilled out into the street.

Several police cars attended and dispersed the partygoers. One highly intoxicated 18-year-old was arrested after he was spotted hiding underneath one of the police cars.

He was held in lock up until sober and was released without charges.

Police were called back to the house about 90 minutes later when a drunken 20-year-old man who had fled staggered back into the house.

The homeowner kicked him out and police arrested him after finding him staggering in the neighbourhood a short distance away.

He was also brought back to the police office to sober up and was later released without charges.

No one was injured and one of the initial combatants who remained declined to press charges.
