Man seriously injured in stabbing on Columbia Street

A 27-year-old Kamloops man was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after he was stabbed during an altercation on Columbia Street down from McGill Road just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Kamloops RCMP said.

Police were alerted when the man showed up at Royal Inland Hospital with serious stab wounds to his abdomen.

Information provided by the victim to police was sketchy and officers are trying to establish what exactly happened.

Investigators were at the scene Thursday morning gathering evidence.

Anyone who saw the incident in the area of Columbia Street between Pemberton Terrace and McGill at around 1:30 a.m. is asked to call Kamloops RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
