Penticton RCMP arrested a man Sunday evening who had been missing since Jan. 14 from a community-based residential facility in Kamloops.
Andrew Robert Hardenstine, a 33-year-old federal parolee, was arrested without incident when police stopped a vehicle on Giant's Head Road in Summerland after conducting an operation in the area through the afternoon and into the evening.
Other suspects in the vehicle fled, but Hardenstine was the priority, Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said.
Hardenstine had been serving a three-year, eight-month sentence on two convictions for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and a weapons related offence when he was released on parole in early January.
Hardenstine's lengthy criminal record includes incidents of violence, police said.
