Seniors' tour lights the way

Thursday night will shine bright for the 36th annual Seniors' Christmas Light Tour.

As many as 800 residents are expected to climb aboard city transit buses for the seasonal display of private homes as well as a tea service and singalong that follow at Interior Savings Centre.

Bus pickup locations are as follows:

p South Kamloops: 6:45 p.m., Ponderosa Place, 421 Columbia St.; 6:30 p.m., Sahali Centre Mall; Kamloops Seniors Village (1200 Hugh Allan Dr.), Shuswap Manor (343 Arrowstone Dr.), Station Plaza, TD Bank (Valleyview), Columbia Manor (Thirteenth Avenue and Columbia Street), Silver Threads (Second and St. Paul); 6:45 p.m., Glenfair, Windsor Towers (Fourth Avenue and Nicola), Acadia Tower (343 Nicola St.), Desert Gardens, Pines (Fourth and Battle), The Oaks.

p Westsyde: 6:25 p.m., The Hamlets (3255 Overlander Dr.); 6:30 p.m., Westsyde Pool; 6:35 p.m., Oak Hills Store.

P North Kamloops: 6:15 p.m., Heffley Creek Store; 6:22 p.m., Rayleigh Station Store; 6:25 p.m., North Shore Transit Exchange, Tranquille Road and Twelfth Street; 6:45 p.m., Le Jeune Manor (289 Maple St.); 6:30 p.m., Thrupp Manor (591 Royal Ave.); 6:45 p.m., The Shores (870 Westminster), Cottonwood Manor (west entrance); 6:30 p.m., Renaissance Retirement Residence (Vernon Avenue); 6:30 p.m., Big O Tire (Leigh Road).

P Brocklehurst: 6:45 p.m., Brock Estates (2401 Ord Rd.); 6:30 p.m., Desmond and Tranquille Road (across from Brock Shopping Centre); 6:45 p.m., Orchard Court (860 Nicolani) and Capri Gardens (1730 Tranquille Rd.).

The tour is for registered participants only. However, many other residents enjoy taking the same route on a self-guided basis. The City won't release the list until after Thursday night's bus tour, when The Daily News will publish it.
