Tolko Industries Ltd. is taking down time at three plywood mills, including Heffley Creek, in an apparent market-related move.
The company confirmed mills in Heffley Creek, Armstrong and White Valley will stop operations during the first week of July.
Plywood markets were strong late last year and into early 2013 but have fallen recently on softer U.S. demand.
Prices are down about 13 per cent from a year ago, according to the Random Lengths index.
Mills are scheduled to resume production July 8.
