Twice a year, I'm left wondering why we keep doing this to ourselves - switching from standard to daylight time and back again and no one seems to know why; just something we've always done I guess.
At one time, it was so the kids can walk to school in daylight (but arrive home in the dark and besides, most get driven anyway). Or the farmers get an 'extra' hour in the morning (I'm still working on that one!); then I find out Saskatchewan doesn't observe daylight time. Never has. About the only reason I've heard that makes any sense came from a local First Nations who explained that this was a typical white man's solution to a blanket that's too short - cut two inches off the bottom and sew it onto the top.
