The first round of auditions starts June 28-29 at centre court in Aberdeen Mall. The rest of the competition takes place on Canada Day. Last year's winner, Amy Watters, 16, who won both audience choice and judges' choice awareds, will perform at the Rotary Bandshell at 6 p.m. on July 1.

This year, a new division has been added - Kamloops mini-Idol for singers aged 8 to 13. First auditions for this will be held at four different schools starting June 25 and ending June 28.
