Accused Christmas thief makes court appearance

One of three people charged with stealing Christmas packages from Kamloops doorsteps appeared in provincial court Friday.

Jennifer Penner-Power made her first appearance. She told the court she needs time to find a lawyer.

Penner-Power was charged along with two others. The woman, along with two co-accused, will appear next March 17.

It's alleged Penner-Power played only a small role in the thefts, with the other two individuals considered the masterminds of the scheme.

RCMP arrested three people Dec. 29, who had been cruising neighbourhoods and grabbing packages left by delivery firms at front doorsteps when people were not at home.
