A Kamloops competitive bodybuilder is identified as the woman killed in a single-vehicle crash near Hope last week, the Fraser Valley coroner's office said Wednesday.
Roseanne Desmarais, 36, died when her vehicle left the Trans-Canada Highway around 3:45 a.m. Friday. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Toxicology tests are underway, said the coroner.
Desmarais, previously known as Blackburn, was a national level bodybuilding competitor. Her website (www.roseannedesmarais.com) lists several competitions the woman competed in, including the Canadian national championships in 2008, where she placed third in her weight class.
She also placed fourth in the North American bodybuilding championships the same year.
