Machete attack lands Enderby man in psych ward

A disturbed young man is under a psychologist's watch in Vernon Jubilee Hospital after attacking his father with a machete on Sunday.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police were called to a Tamarack Road home in Enderby where the 20-year-old had become violent.

The man attacked his 48-year-old father with the machete, inflicting lacerations to his shoulder, arm and hand.

The young man was arrested for assault with a weapon and investigators soon discovered he suffers from mental health issues.

He was brought to hospital and committed under the Mental Health Act. His father was also brought to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
