Brendan Doherty scored twice to lead the Blaze 1 to a 5-1 victory over Kelowna in Kamloops' first game of the season.

Haris Djelmo, Keenan Wallace and Kyle Metz also scored for Kamloops, which led 2-1 at the half.

Cooper Harcott was the winning goaltender.

The Blaze beat the Penticton Pinnacles 2-0 on Saturday.

Blake Mostyk and Keenan Zimmerman scored the goals. Kyle Trotman was perfect in goal for Kamloops, which improved to 5-1-1 in league play.

On Sunday, the Blaze lost 4-2 to Shuswap in Salmon Arm. Brenden Escott and game MVP Blair Dandurand scored the Blaze goals.

Dylan Cail scored twice for Kamloops in a 2-0 Blaze victory over Shuswap on Sunday.

Robbie Shouldice posted the shutout.

U17 BOYS

The Blaze got two goals from Mike Kanalas and blanked host Kelowna 3-0 on Sunday.

Gino Leone also scored. Ryan Bregoliss played the first half in goal for the Blaze, with Tomas Leckie playing the second half.

U14/15 BOYS

The Norbrock Lakers went 5-0, outscoring their opposition 14-2 in the process, in winning their division of the Mike Bartram Memorial youth tournament on the weekend.

The Lakers defeated Norbrock team 2, 6-0, as game MVP Mike Basran scored twice with singles from Cyril Seminiuk, Nathan Masi, Lakhan Gill and Lucas Treadwell. Masi and Gill shared the goaltending.

The Lakers then edged South Kamloops team 3, 2-1. Basran and Seminiuk had the goals, while Gill was in goal and Treadwell was the game MVP.

Masi put up the shutout in a 3-0 victory over South Kamloops team 4. Basran, with two, and Seminiuk had the goals, while game MVP was Adam Leone.

The Lakers beat Dallas 1-0 in a semifinal game. Basran had the goal, with Gill and Masi sharing the shutout.

The Lakers scored a 2-1 overtime victory in the final. The name of the other team wasn't available. Payden Rode and Treadwell scored for the Lakers, as Masi and Gill shared the goaltending victory. Vince Li was the game MVP.

U18 GIRLS

The Blaze played to a 1-1 draw with Kelowna United on Sunday.

Kaitlin Olson's second-half goal forged the tie. Karyn Moen went the distance in goal for the Blaze.

U16 BOYS

Kelowna United scored a 2-0 victory over the Blaze in the latter's first TOYSL game of the season.

Sho Yamamoto was in goal for the Blaze, which trailed 2-0 at the half.

The Blaze will play at home on Sunday, 4 p.m., at Hillside Stadium.
